Documentary Film: ‘THE END OF SUBURBIA: Oil Depletion and the Collapse of the American Dream’

For the past century, most of the advances in technology and living standards have relied on energy from petroleum and other fossil fuels.

But some experts are now warning that the peak of oil production worldwide may be reached fairly soon. And the economic and political consequences could be enormous.

Peak oil means the point at which we begin extracting the most oil we will ever be able to extract. Analysts are still debating, but most agree peak oil will be sometime between now and the year 2035. As demand continues to rise and our ability to extract it begins to fall, prices, they say, will increase dramatically.

This is not good news when a barrel of oil already costs over $66 and the cost of gasoline is hovering around $1 per litre.

How will this affect your daily commute?
Your home-heating costs?
The property value of your home?
Your future?

Come watch this provocative, award-winning Canadian documentary and find out.

Humans have the ability to make choices. We can evaluate a situation, and based on what we observe, make decisions in our own self interest. Make no mistake; we all make decisions based on self interest. It is in our self interest to become aware of the global energy situation right now. After all, it is our children and grandchildren who will inherit the future.
