Che Guevara
and the Latin American Revolution
by Manuel "Barbarroja" Piñeiro

Che Guevarra and the Latin American Revolution
"To try to reduce Che to a mere cultural symbol is a vulgar oversimplification... Che lives wherever there is a wrong to right and wherever there is a man or woman willing to dedicate his or her energy, efforts, intelligence, and even life to the immense task of building a more worthy, humane, better society and a world of solidarity."—Manuel "Barbarroja" Piñeiro

Manuel Piñeiro known as "Barbarroja," or "Red Beard," was a figure of great mystery for decades. As head of the Cuban Communist Party's "Americas Department," he oversaw Cuba's operations in support of liberation movements on every continent, especially Latin America and Africa. In this work, he closely collaborated with Che Guevara on the missions to the Congo and Bolivia.

This book includes many extraordinary new revelations about Cuba's role in Latin America and some profound insights into Che Guevara's life and legacy.
