Bush Breaks More than 750 Laws
At least one of the mainstream media is finally beginning to see Bush's lawlessness, as evidenced by this article in today's Boston Globe about the Prez.'s claims that he has the authority to disobey more than 750 laws, enacted since he took office. Bush asserts that "he has the power to set aside any statute passed by Congress when it conflicts with his interpretation of the Constitution".King George (Bush) has adroitly turned the Constitution on its head while the mute, gutless Democrats (with a few exceptions) stuck their ostrich heads into the sand, the MSM eagerly complied, and the apathetic American public watched Canadian Idol.
I wonder if the Boston Globe's awakening will cause more of the rest of the MSM to follow suit, and perhaps give the Democrats the impetus to unite, show their outrage and impeach this most errant of all U.S. presidents. If the Dems sit by idly and mutely, it will show that Americans no longer have a two-party system and they can kiss their "democracy" good-bye!

What bothers me most is the lack of judicial oversight.
A government can claim that they need increased powers to deal with terrorism; I have no problem with that, but there must be some oversight, to ensure that the powers of government are not being abused.
When making laws, always assume that someone will try and abuse them (maybe not today, but maybe tomorrow) and write them in a manner that prevents abuse; never assume trust. too bad that is not happening now, and when it is the president seems OK to simply ignore those provisions.
This is all very worrying. I hope the Boston globe is making a fuss out of nothing, but it does not seem that way

Thank you for your comment. The problem is that presently, the Bush administration can pretty well do anything they want. There is no judicial oversight.
The Boston Globe has finally stated what those of us who read alternative media (not only the mainstream) have already known, although perhaps not quite the full extent, such as the "more than 750" laws the President has the authority to disobey. Indeed, it should be very worrying to all Americans.
