CBC: The Torture Question

In case you've missed it on PBS Frontline, CBC is presently airing the documentary program "The Torture Question", on Newsworld's The Passionate Eye. It started at 10:00 pm. EST. (I've been watching it, and you may want a break from the Olympics and watch this compelling, disturbing program, if you have not already seen it on PBS.)

The photos of abuse at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq and the shocking revelations that followed stunned a nation. At the same time, the FBI began to document a trail of abuse by interrogators at the Guantanamo Bay detention facility. What caused this to happen? Who is to blame? The Torture Question takes a hard look at the treatment of US prisoners in Afghanistan, Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib. The filmmakers gained unprecedented access to the prisons, going inside Abu Ghraib for example, with future detainees, to record their horror and reactions first hand. Visit PBS web feature to find out more about this issue and watch the film Sunday on CBC Newsworld.
