Legal Fundraiser at Six Nations this Friday
This is from Six Nations spokeswoman Janie Jamieson:
This is to inform everyone of a Taco Supper and Iroquois Social that is taking place at the Six Nations Community Hall on Friday January 12, 2007 from 5pm to 9pm. This is to raise funds for our legal fees.
In December of 2006 a jurisdictional challenge was filed at the offices of the Attorney General of Canada, Ontario and at the Cayuga Courthouse by a lawyer, Stephen Ford. He is a Mohawk from Tyendinega who is representing "Ronnie Gibson". A different type of battle has begun. A long expensive fight in the court system is underway and the question that is being asked will be a difficult one for Canada to answer, if they choose to. The question is simple, when and how did we as Ogwehowe relinquish our sovereignty and become subjects of the Crown?
Anyone who understands the issues at hand will understand this will be a long, expensive drawn out battle. It will be a time consuming process. But hey, we are a patient nation!!!!! We still need all the support we can get. So please pass the word along or better yet, make it out on Friday if you can.
Niawen.
