Time Magazine's 'Person of the Year' for 2006

Which famous person is Time's 'Person of the Year' for 2006? Is it one of the many well-known innovators or philanthropists? A big-name personality? Politician? No. This year's Person of the Year award goes to the people reading this blog. YOU! Yes, that's right...

Grossman also pointed out that blogs are "often more immediate and authentic than traditional media."




The "Great Man" theory of history is usually attributed to the Scottish philosopher Thomas Carlyle, who wrote that "the history of the world is but the biography of great men." He believed that it is the few, the powerful and the famous who shape our collective destiny as a species. That theory took a serious beating this year.

Seems to be... :-)

There's a lot of good stuff available on blogs. As well, there's a lot of unreadable, worthless junk... But all in all, I think the worthy stuff outweighs the trash.
