Amnesty International & Canadian Politicians Launch Open Letter for HR

On March 1, eight eminent former Canadian politicians launched an open letter to Prime Minister Harper urging him to comply with the UN Human Rights Committee's recommendation to carry out a public review of the cases of Canadian citizens detained and tortured abroad in the context of Canadian national security investigations.

The letter can be found on the Amnesty International web-site. There is also an opportunity for individuals to add their name to the letter, at the following link:

Please circulate this widely. Prime Minister Harper indicated he is going to review this issue. Now is the time to ensure that the government launches a review process that is: independent, comprehensive, fair and public.
