Rice: Iran is Global Terror 'Banker' Working with Syria to Destabilise the M.E.
It is beginning to look more and more like Iran is next on Bush's agenda for "regime change", and Syria is not far behind. Strange, isn't it, that not long ago, Syria was a trusted, complicit friend, when Canadian citizen Maher Arar (with Canada's help) was 'renditioned' there for torture by the U.S. Now that country is in Bush's bad books too. Friends one day, foes the next... Of course, that was the case with Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden, and countless others..The Iranian government is a "central banker" for global terrorism and working with Syria to destablise the Middle East, the US Secretary of State has said. Speaking in testimony to the US Senate on Thursday, Condoleeza Rice signaled the US intention to step up the diplomatic offensive against Iran, saying the threat it posed went beyond its controversial nuclear programme.
