Canadian Public Medicare is a living embodiment of our spirit of community, compassion, and equality. This holiday, help save public medicare and give a gift that shares those values.There has never been so important a time to stand up and support our Public Health System. Never, since the inception of Medicare, has the fight against it by the multinational insurance and health privatization industries been so huge. And never has the movement to protect and extend the public system been stronger.
We have successfully stopped Ontario's private clinics and have won the re-funding of the health system. We are pushing back on the privatization of the hospitals. We are working with our national partners to win federal policy that will stop two tier health care. We are known internationally for our successes in rolling back privatization. Thousands of Ontarians working to Save Public Medicare are on the move.
This holiday season, would you consider giving a donation in the name of a friend or relative to the Ontario Health Coalition's campaign to Save Public Medicare? Not only is this a warm gesture to give a gift to give in someone's name, it makes a major difference for the health coalition. You see, we function from donations. Political advocacy organizations such as ours are not eligible for government funding, and there are virtually no foundations in Canada that fund our type of work. We will not seek corporate funding for ethical reasons. So we rely on your generosity. And we make the most of what we have.If you give a gift of a donation in the name of your friend or relative, within a week Ontario Health Coalition will send them a beautiful gift card with an acknowledgement of the donation you have given in their name. We will send a receipt and confirmation to you.
