June 22: Clan Mother representatives at screening event in Toronto

FREE SCREENING EVENT at WonderWorks on June 22 from 7 – 9pm.

WonderWorks is thrilled to present the documentary “Signs Out Of Time” by renowned filmmaker Donna Read and Starhawk about Marija Gimbutas’ life and work. Her work presents hard archeological evidence of ancient Goddess worshiping cultures in Europe, inspiring us to strive towards such peacefulness again.

Also that evening… We are honoured to have a special guest from a living society of woman-centred reverence and respect. Josephine Sandy of Six Nations of The Grand River joins us to share her unique insights of Indigenous infrastructure, centred on the Clan Mothers responsibility to reflect and build community consensus, guided by the wisdom of The Great Law. The women protect Mother Earth, the men protect the
women.

Below is an update from the person who is hosting this event:

It is my pleasure to be introducing the film & Jo Sandy
[ forewarning due to crucial talks she is involved in regarding the land claims, it is possible that she will not be able to attend - won't know for sure til I go to pick her up at Six Nations this afternoon - even if she personally cannot be with
us, we will share our knowledge of her society of harmony, peace, and balance with Nature ]--- Shel

I couldn't go... :( Had friends from S. California unexpectedly show up. They came for a wedding just across the border, so decided to drive over here... Too bad I had to miss the Clan Mothers' reps. :(

I would have loved seeing/hearing another 'neanderthal'. Kindred souls... You were lucky, you got to see & hear.

I've a busy weekend, so may not be able to be on here much. Have my Amnesty Canada - Taste for Justice bbq, which we're holding at another member's house this year, but I've still lots to do to help..

To add to everything, now there's a company that wants to expand to add a nuclear waste incinerator facility, which would be importing nuclear waste from all over the world, to "incinerate" it here in Brampton! Can you believe it?? It's insane!! And the gov't is letting it go ahead unless we, the residents, get together and stop it. The company has already had two fires in 1 month recently!!!!

Understandably, many of us are outraged, but most of the people haven't got a clue about this, so our little group has to get out there and tell them! So we're having oodles of meetings, leaflets, public speakings, door-knocking, etc.. To add insult to injury, this company is right in the middle of housing development, schools, churches, mosques, temples. The politicians are as usual... Only our previous Green Party candidate and the NDP candidate are on board, not as 'politicians' but as concerned citizens... We'll likely have to hire a lawyer and 'experts' from the chemical sciences, etc. (that's not the name for them, but I can't think now... Just got home, brain in neutral)

When will the insanity stop!! Only when we have no planet left? We're sure doing a good job of poisoning ourselves...

Sheesh, I'm thoroughly disgusted, to say the least...

You have a nice week-end.. (in case I won't have time to be on here to tell you :)
