LETTER:

Monday May 15th, 2006

To the Government of Chile,

I am writing from Canada to demand justice for the four Mapuche Political Prisoners currently on recession from a hunger strike after 64 days – Patricia Troncoso, Jaime Marileo, Patricio Marileo and Juan Huenulao; as well as freedom for all Mapuche Political Prisoners currently sentenced or being processed under the Anti-Terrorist Act.

The inhumane lack of will demonstrated by the Chilean Government in waiting two months to respond to this critical situation, has undoubtedly led to irreparable damage to the health of these four hunger strikers and could have easily resulted in their death.

I am aware of the agreements reached Sunday the 14th of May, wherein the Mapuche prisoners in question agreed to a temporary recession in their hunger strike, given the formation of a Commission of Guarantors who will support the law reform motion for “Conditional Freedom” before the Senate that would benefit all current Mapuche Political Prisoners. This Commission
is composed of: the Bishop of Temuco Camilo Vial Risopatron, Senator Alejandro Navarro and Vice-President of the Senate Jaime Naranjo.

During the voting process to take place in the coming days, I would like the Chilean Government to be reminded that Human Rights Organizations and citizens like myself the world over will be watching closely to ensure that your government acts in good faith to bring about the fulfillment of the Mapuche Prisoners’ fair demands: freedom to all Mapuche people from political prison.
Until these demands are met we will continue to hold protests outside Chilean consulates, send letters of support and to seek international aid for this cause. Lastly, should this cause for Conditional Freedom be rejected by the Chilean Government, we will continue with more strength and determination to expose Chile’s injustice to the World.

In solidarity with the Mapuche people,

_________ (Your name & address)

Mapuche people can take care about himself, (be aware about it, a lot of mapuche people live in peace, only a bunch is involved in violent acts of times, people that helps some organization not always know so much about they (anarkist) way of life) they had done this for 500 years.
Basically the people that is imprisioned have participation in burn some houses, and have the same (cruel) way.

How should be your response if the inuit or crew people start burning canadian houses?

The histori has not been just for mapuches, but the violence is not the way.
