We Media Global Forum 2006 London: May 3-4
The Media Center and their partners, the BBC and Reuters, are organisers of the We Media Global Forum in London, England on May 3 and 4th. This is We Media's major annual conference, initiated by The Media Center last year in New York to reflect and further their vision of a better-informed society. The organisers hope "We Media becomes a Davos-like annual experience for innovators, executives, investors, statesmen, and other leaders and thinkers concerned about the role and application of media in a world connected by digital networks."
The Forum will bring together about 250 world leaders from business and government, forefront thinkers and everyday citizens to address some of the world's most pressing issues.
The Forum's initial conference at The Associated Press in New York last year had its keynote speech delivered by Al Gore.
This year's participants include Richard Dreyfuss, Actor and Activist; Dave Sifry, CEO, Technorati; Mark Thompson, Director General, BBC; Wadah Khanfar, Managing Director, Al Jazeera; Carolyn McCall, CEO, Guardian Newspapers; Rhami Khouri, Editor, Lebanon Daily Star, and many other innovative people involved in the media from all parts of the globe.

The Forum is an annual conference, first presented by The Media Center in 2005 at The Associated Press in New York, where the keynote speech was delivered by Al Gore, chairman of Current TV and former Vice President of the United States. Gary Goldhammer of MarCom Interactive said in his Below the Fold blog: “The 2005 We Media conference was a gorgeous blur, a non-stop serenade from modern media pioneers, practitioners and a few procrastinators about the coming Collaboration Age.”
We hope We Media becomes a Davos-like annual experience for innovators, executives, investors, statesmen, and other leaders and thinkers concerned about the role and application of media in a world connected by digital networks. We hope your participation will also be an opportunity to reacquaint you with The Media Center. We're a small but influential think tank seeding ideas and relationships to incubate innovation that enables a better-informed society. The Media Center conducts research, gatherings and works closely with members of The Media Center Network, a corporate consortium of supporters that includes Qualcomm, The Associated Press, Reuters and BBC.
