Jamaica's Prime Minister-elect Portia Simpson Miller was greeted by supporters in Kingston last month. She will take office by April.

Portia Simpson Miller will soon become Jamaica's first female prime minister. As the newly-elected leader of the People's National Party (PNP), she will succeed P.J. Patterson when he steps down before April 1, when the next legislative term begins.

In law schools, the percentage is much higher - between 80 and 90, according to Jamaica's Bureau of Women's affairs. Academics is not the only arena where women are shining: over the past two decades women have increasingly moved into many of the senior and middle-management positions across society.

Yes, hopefully. And Canadian women as well.
BTW, I've been reading your poems. I like them, they are good. Keep writing!

James, I can't find your blog. Please write it down here.

Thanks!

And also thanks to miss kv and you, James, for the positive comments. I do think that more educated women in governments worldwide would be a plus.

(Then, hopefully, eventually, we'd have a more peaceful world, and address the global issues of poverty, hunger and famine, disease, environment, etc. instead of waging wars for commodities such as oil... Wishful thinking? Probably.. :-)
