Action: Sign Petition to Stop Funding for Permanent US Bases in Iraq
There is an amendment in the House to try to cut off funding for the construction of permanent military bases in Iraq. The vote will take place either tonight or tomorrow.The Bush regime never cared about WMDs, mass graves, the Iraqi people, or freedom. The only thing on the march is Halliburton's construction of 14 enduring thorns in the heart of the Middle East which can ONLY lead to an endless and growing insurgency.

You have heard the President say, "When the Iraqis step up, we will step down." You don't believe that and neither do the Iraqi people. And when they DO step up, as the are doing even now with roadside IED bombs, it will be to do one thing and one thing only, to tell us to finally get OUT of their country.
